We decided on a trip to Penetanguishene and Perry Sound area in September 2024.
The first two-night stop was at Sunnylea Resort on the Little Lake.
Our cottage was tiny, like a dwarf house, but it served the purpose. The whole resort was like we stepped 150 years back in time.

They offered free kayaks and canoes for riding on the lake. Whoever used the kayaks did not set them in place upside down, and the rain of previous days filled them. We turned one of them on the right way (to use it the next day) but decided on a canoe the next day. The life jackets and paddles were in an old dog house. The only requirement was to hang the life jackets in their place upon return (a post on the door).

We enjoyed our time very much, the weather and the lake were perfect.

The vegetation we saw on the bottom was a real jungle.

We found a small island, about 10 meters across and maybe 30 meters long.

We stopped there anchoring the canoe (actually tied it to a tree) .

We spent some time there taking a swim.

When I was a kid, I did not like the swamps. But I do now. Maybe because I learned that nature is more healthy with swamps. Not only flora and fauna within it, but the humidity it holds around, keeping the whole area healthy. And at 6 Miles Lake looks nice.

We spotted some turtles, and they were not afraid of us.

On our way to Perry Sound, we stopped for a hike in Killbear Park. We did not see bears, but a snake crossing our way.

We stayed until sunset.

On our last day, we returned from Perry Sound and wanted to visit Massasuaga Provincial Park. We thought that all parks have at least one parking spot for hiking or some sport on a lake. But we were disappointed. We expected some wilderness after a 10 km drive on the road with gravel (no asphalt).
Picture

But what waited for us was a panel asking us impetuously to return.
Picture

Only tourists renting some properties in that park could enjoy it.

So we decided to look for the next park and stopped for the island of Beausoleil. It is a National Park (so the owner is the central government).

Picture

We crossed to the island with a ferry owned by the government. There were only the two of us, my wife and I.
Picture
The island offered us compensation for the failure at Massasauga. Beausoleil offered hiking in a good shadow, considering the day’s heat.

One trail ends at Christian Beach, where we stayed for 2 hours, most of the time only us.

I am wondering why people who experience paranormal happenings do not come forward more often. Because society stamps them with an unpleasant label? Maybe the reaction from the family – because my take on it is that in most cases, the family history or specific sensitivities or an extra inherited sense get them closer to the (otherwise) unseen phenomena. Or, maybe, because they think it is just a chemistry in the brain. Considering what I had to endure, it must be all around us. Welcome to my weird life where dreams and day-to-day activities had the same creatures interacting with me.

In THESE LIVES, daily Cold War existence under the despotic dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaușescu, is vividly documented. Drawn against a chaotic background of hardships, horrors, and hilarity, story after story depicts every imaginable aspect of that era: from cold, brutal murders and betrayal, to the abiding love between a husband and wife.

“Author Eliade Moldovan has crafted a philosophically challenging meditation on the perils of fundamentalism, presenting a cautionary tale of a society governed by religious intolerance…The Village is a brave novel that successfully presents its case for a more liberal society. - Blueink Reviews
